T
he University of Florida requires that all
fraternities provide quarantine space for
COVID-19 positive residents. The Alumni
Room was chosen as an area that would have
the least impact on house operations. All our
precious Florida Alpha memorabilia and some
of the furniture have been removed from the
Alumni Room and put in safe storage.
We regret that neither the
Alumni Room nor the Fraternity
house will be available for alumni
gatherings this season.
UF has also announced that tailgating will
not be permitted on the UF campus.
Let's hope that, despite these complications,
the Gators will make us all proud this year
and that 2021 will be a better, brighter year.
ALUMNI UPDATE
CHAPTER ETERNAL
Bill Braxton '19 entered Chapter Eternal on March 13, 2020,
at 23. Prior to attending Chipola College and the University
of Florida, he graduated from Marianna High School, where
he played football and soccer, was inducted into the National
Honor Society, and served as the senior class president.
Bill was accepted into graduate programs at UF and Florida
State shortly before his passing. While at UF, he volunteered
at several charitable organizations and was active with
Greenhouse Church's youth ministries. Bill's passion for
serving others led to his commitment to social justice. He is
greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
