Goodwill also has locations throughout the region. "Since people are spending more time at home, there has been an uptick in donations, which means there's even more to choose from," said Amanda Edwards, vice president of marketing and development for Goodwill. Lauren Owens, of Huntsville, learned the art of treasure hunting at thrift stores from her uncle, Matt. "One of our favorites is the Neighborhood Store on University. It was our bonding time, and he taught me the tricks of the trade," Owens said, admitting that sometimes when she'd give up, her uncle would keep digging. He would find something great, then brag about it. But, he would end up giving it to her, she said. Her favorite finds were "awesome" name- brand coats and job interview clothes and shoes.
