TAU BETA CHAPTER OF CHI OMEGA AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY E very Tau Beta sister is invited to participate in the Building for Our Next 100 Years at 310 S. Monroe campaign. We are inspired by and grateful for those sisters who were able to make early pledges. Their gifts started our fundraising, but we are asking for every sister to contribute at whatever level she can. Tau Beta alumnae have been working diligently to provide a new beautiful, modern home for many generations of Tau Beta to come. Campaign Surpasses $5,100,000 While we have already seen huge success, our capital campaign still aspires to meet our fundraising goal of $6 million for the rebuild of our beloved Chapter House. To date, the capital campaign has received $5,164,300 in pledges from 285 donors. These gifts will provide a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility for our collegiate sisters and help us compete with other chapters for the best and brightest new members at Oklahoma State. While we appreciate our early donors, it means that more than 2,200 Tau Beta alumane and friends have not yet contributed to the capital campaign. The average participation among Greek campaigns is 25 percent. While we were active Tau Betas, we did not settle for average, and as alumnae, we know we can surpass standards set by other groups and reach new heights. Leave Your Legacy at Tau Beta If you have been waiting to make a commitment, now is the time. Please remember that your gift can be paid over a five-year period and that all donors pledging $5,000 or more will have their names inscribed on a prominently displayed plaque in the Chapter House. In addition, room naming opportunities begin at the $25,000 giving level. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661. Pledge Class Challenge Friendly competition has always been a part of Tau Beta. To encourage participation the campaign board is issuing a rare opportunity for your class to be remembered in a special way in our new home. In addition to raising the final $1 million for our campaign, the winning classes will earn bragging rights and win prizes based on their level of participation, informing all eras of their past, present, and future excellence. This is your opportunity to come together with your sisters and make a difference. • The pledge class with highest participation percent will earn one of the remaining room naming opportunities. • The top 5-10 participating pledge classes will be recognized in a permanent way in the new house. • Each pledge class with a minimum 75% participation rate will earn free pledge class sleepover in the new house. We hope you will join your sisters in building for the next generation of Tau Betas. Your XΩ legacy doesn't end when you leave the Chapter House—it lives on through the sisters who follow in your footsteps. The Tau Beta House Corporation can't wait to open the chapter house doors again to alumnae and guests, but it's paramount to limit the traffic going into our house to eliminate the potential spread of coronavirus infection. With the fall semester underway, we want to share the measures taken to keep our collegians healthy. • Hand-sanitizing stations were installed in the entryway, dining room, and additional high traffic areas. • The frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces in the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and doorknobs in common areas has increased. • Live-in members are required to sanitize their rooms with antibacterial wipes. • Thermometers are available and members are encouraged to take their temperature daily. • Hand-washing guidelines have been posted throughout the house. • The front door is only being used to enter the house, while the side doors are exit only. • Capacities have been limited on the first floor to allow for social distancing. • Only kitchen workers will be allowed in the main kitchen. • Traffic is minimized in hallways and stairwells. • Collegians are asked to store personal items, such as toiletries, toothbrushes, and towels, in bedrooms. • Chapter meetings, formal dinners, and social events are being conducted in a virtual manner or postponed. Should a member experience COVID-19 symptoms, she is expected to get tested immediately and self-quarantine for 48 hours (or until the test result is received) in the guest room or quarantine room in the house director's apartment. If there is a chance her roommate has been exposed or is also showing symptoms, both girls may quarantine in their room together. In the event a member tests positive, she must follow all state and OSU guidelines for reporting it. Any member who tests positive is asked to return home. If logistics do not allow for that, we will work with her on a case-by-case basis to ensure her and everyone's safety. Some of the things that have been asked of the collegians might not be convenient, but they understand that they're necessary for Tau Beta to thrive this fall. On behalf of the collegians and Tau Beta House Corporation, I hope you and yours remain healthy as we push forward together through the pandemic. Loyally, Leslie Russell Frazier '80 Tau Beta House Corporation, President Crea ng a Safe Chapter House Environment Even with recruitment changing to 100% virtual four days prior to the start, Tau Beta knocked it out of the park! We are so proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment to staying healthy. This year, we welcomed 54 outstanding new members.
