We finished the semester with a chapter record GPA of 3.34, topping all other IFC fraternities at OU. Additionally, as a result of our strong academic advising program, the 2019 new member class finished with a stellar chapter GPA record of 3.44. We hope this success was carried into the spring semester, as we are still awaiting the Fraternity Grade Report for the spring semester. BROTHERHOOD GAINS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS In January, we were proud and excited to usher in our freshman new member class. After signing and initiating the 60 members of the 2019 new member class, we are eager to see how they contribute to our great campus at OU, as well as the Gamma Phi Chapter's historic legacy. SPRING HIGHLIGHTS Before the house unfortunately closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our chapter was on a great trajectory for the spring semester. Throughout the semester, we worked hard to be engaged on our campus and within the community, as we had vice chairmen, executive committee members, and participants in several campus organizations and philanthropies such as Soonerthon, Relay for Life, and Crimson Wishes, to name a few. Additionally, our chapter finished first in the Miracle Cup standings for large organizations for Soonerthon 2020 by raising the most donations for OU's largest on-campus philanthropy. LOOKING AHEAD While the 2019-20 school year was short-lived, to say we are eager to get back to Norman in the fall would be a tremendous understatement. One of our goals for fall 2020 is to keep updating and improving our new member education program so that we can ensure a valuable experience for each young man entering our chapter. We will also look to prioritize diversity in our 2020 pledge class through the efforts of our Recruitment Team, which is led by Cade Muldrow '22. Finally, we are working diligently to plan brotherhood events for the upcoming year to create a stronger and more holistic sense of brotherhood across grade levels. The Gamma Phi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi is in a great position heading forward to the fall semester, and we are excited to see what the future holds for our chapter.
