This project successfully integrated a kitchen,
dining and mudroom addition with an open floor
plan to accommodate large gatherings, while
maintaining an intimate spatial feel. The addition's
exterior brought visual interest and hierarchy
through the use of interesting roof forms and
building massing to an otherwise understated rear
façade. The interior was transformed into a highly
functional space with contrasting custom cabinetry,
including a walk-in pantry built into the cabinets.
The collection of interior spaces retained their
singularity through the use of varied ceiling
treatments, including a coffered living room, a
smooth kitchen ceiling, and a custom vaulted dining
room ceiling.

This room addition included a sunroom and a
second floor master bedroom and bathroom.
Due to problems with a previous contractor,
some structural issues with the existing framing
needed correcting first. Opening up two walls
in the kitchen area connected it to the
430-square-foot sunroom addition, creating a
beautiful and open living space. Everything
from the steam shower, to the custom bedroom
barn door, to the new wood flooring went just
as planned in the 870-square-foot master
bedroom suite addition. In the end, the
homeowners were very happy and proud of
their remodel.
