DELTA TAU DELTA PAGE 5 MAKING ADJUSTMENTS Active Chapter Shifts to Virtual Meetings amidst COVID-19 Pandemic D elta Chi Chapter's last year in the Shelter has certainly been one to remember, not without its hardships. Our spring 2020 semester started with initiating our 2019 pledge class, a very welcome addition to the brotherhood. We also attained seven more well-rounded young men to the spring class who we hope to formally initiate at the beginning of the fall 2020 semester. As our spring semester was abruptly cut short, our chapter was unable to participate in our philanthropic Delt Dogs event which we have done annually every spring semester for the past several years to benefit our local Humane Society. Nevertheless, our chapter was still able to excel, having a top 10 freshman at Oklahoma State and winning an award at the Western Plains Division conference in Dallas, Texas, for the best undergraduate GPA. As the COVID-19 pandemic has affected how we go about our daily lives, it has had a smaller effect on how we run the chapter. The executive committee continues to meet to discuss the well-being of the chapter and meet the deadlines brought to us by our national fraternity and Oklahoma State University. The need for increased communication in this time has brought us closer with our Housing Corporation. These alumni have been able to provide more clarity to our members regarding what is happening with building the new Shelter and what steps to take as we start this next chapter in our Delta Chi history. Looking to the fall 2020 semester, we are excited to recruit a new pledge class of academic, strong-willed, and charismatic men to continue the Delta Chi legacy at Oklahoma State. We are at an integral time in our fraternity and we seek to only accept men that can build on the foundation we have built. Brothers are looking forward to participating in the Freshman Follies and have a team of passionate, dedicated directors to do so. While we will not be participating in Homecoming this year, we look to utilize the time to establish ourselves as the top chapter academically and socially on campus. In closing, the men of Delta Tau Delta thank all our generous donors and outstanding alumni for making Delta Chi what it is today. We thank you for what you have built so that many men after ourselves can commit their lives to excellence.
