The Jacksonville Jaguars signed McKenzie, along with 22 other college players, as a free agent on Sunday, according to a report by Jaguars writer John Oehser. The Jaguars also agreed to terms with Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers' brother, who played at Pleasant Valley High School and Butte College. At Southern Oregon last season McKenzie finished the year with 98 receptions for 1,661 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. McKenzie's yardage total broke a 47-year-old single-season school record by nearly 500 yards and his 18 touchdowns surpassed a previous school record by six. To top off his record-breaking season, McKenzie broke Southern Oregon's single-game receiving total with 265 yards in a playoff game against Morningside College. In an interview with the Daily News earlier this month, McKenzie said if he wanted to achieve his dream of playing in the NFL, it would all come down to that senior season. "Towards the end of the season I just had that mindset that 'I can't be stopped,'" he said. The Jaguars also signed wide receivers Jamal Miles of Arizona State and Tobias Palmer of North Carolina State. Jacksonville will visit the New York Jets at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in what will be the team's first nationally televised preseason game on Fox. In the tournament's 21-year history, he ranks among those with the most appearances. But he's never won the event. Until Monday. Senestraro defeated 2010 champion Dave Carr in a playoff, which was prompted after both men recorded a two-day low score of 144. Going into a playoff "you don't want to get into too much of a match-play situation," Senestraro said. "You want to just kind of play your own game. When you get down to the green you can maybe see what he's got going on, but (Dave Carr) is such a good player that you know that you just gotta try to make birdie every hole." Senestraro did just that to earn $5,000. After both men birdied hole 1, Carr's birdie putt on No. 2 fell short, which gave Senestraro the opening he needed and didn't squander. For Carr, it was the second time in three years that he fell in a championship playoff. In 2011, Carr and Dane Judson fell to Joe Carlton after a three-player playoff was forced. Carlton eagled on hole 1 to capture the win. Carr came into Monday's round after shooting a clubhouse-low 69 on Sunday. Senestraro wasn't far behind with a 70. Conditions were clear but windy on Monday. "It's tough with the wind out here, " Senestraro said. "You just gotta keep the ball in play, you gotta hit solid, quality golf shots in order to get through. Especially the back nine." The winning low team on the day comprised Isaac Sanchez, Russ Nygard, Johnnie Howell, Kai Zheng and Seth Riddle. Together they shot a 407.
