2 Lambda Lamp Over the past couple of years David has become more involved with Alpha-Delta Zeta thanks to Scott Preston AΔ 1135, who recruited him to join the Alumni Advisory Board. "I am grateful to Scott for considering me for this position," David said. "I look forward to supporting active brothers in the future through my role on the board." Social relationships are one of the most important aspects of brotherhood, and David has enjoyed reconnecting with many alumni and active brothers in his new role. Outside of his involvement with Alpha- Delta Zeta, David is the CEO of Heikkinen Energy Advisors, an equity research firm focused on high-quality independent research of exploration and production, oilfield service, and midstream companies. "My first job was working at Shell Offshore in New Orleans. I was grateful for my friendship with John Hartleroad AΔ 1070 when we worked together early in our careers," David said. "We have gotten together a few times since, and I always enjoy our time together." He got started as an analyst in March 2000 and found his calling. David says that he feels blessed to be a Lambda Chi Alpha brother. "I want the alumni, current, and future brothers to know that I am open and available to help how and when I can," he said. David lives in Houston, Texas, and can be reached at dmheikkinen@gmail.com. Serving the Brotherhood (Continued from page 1) A TOUCHING STORY: "I ran the Marine Corps marathon in Washington, D.C., recently. If you have or have not run a marathon there are moments of joy, pain, happiness, and sadness. The Marine Corps marathon has a very special mile called the Wear Blue Mile. I got quiet as I realized that family members and friends were holding pictures of fallen heroes and American flags. As I ran I saw Scott Preston holding a flag and my spirits lifted for the remainder of the race."
