The suggested donation for seniors 60 and older is $2.75. For those guests under the age of 60, the guest charge is $7. A donation is not a requirement for you to receive a meal if you qualify for the program. Reservations must be made a minimum of one day in advance by calling 527-2414. Two percent milk is served with each meal. Menu is subject to change. There are several upcoming orientations including ones in Red Bluff and Corning for those interested in learning about opportunities within the local chapter. The Red Bluff orientation is set for 4-6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Red Bluff Fire Department Training Center, 1015 Kimball Road. Corning Volunteer Fire Department, 814 Fifth St., is the location of the May 11 training, which will be from 4-6 p.m. There is another in Redding 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Red Cross Office, 3609 Bechelli Lane, Unit I. Orientations will explain the Red Cross volunteer application process and upcoming training. Red Cross disaster training is free, but an RSVP would be appreciated and can be done by calling (530)244-8000. For several years, there have been a large number of people who attended the annual National Day of Prayer. The local prayer has been annually honored the U.S. Flag which is centered in front of the Tehama County Court House in Red Bluff. A large number of years have promoted this gathering to join together in facing the flag. The pictures were taken for the department of commerce by H. W. Laughenour, and the work is splendidly done.
