T he Xi Chapter Corporation Board has been very busy on a number of fronts. First and foremost, we have been working with the University of Kansas, national headquarters, and our vendors to ensure the safety of our women living in the chapter house in light of our current national situation. We are taking every precaution to create as safe a living environment as possible for the women who remain on campus. Prior to these recent events, we had spent part of the winter completing a chapter house inventory and self-inspection, in which we analyzed different aspects of the facility to make sure it is in compliance with the most up-to-date safety procedures and protocols. We are also in the process of completing a five-year plan so we have a long-range vision for keeping our chapter house in tip-top shape. Due to the pandemic, we needed to provide pro rata refunds to our current collegiate members. Because of this, we will be postponing any summer improvements for another year. We would like to welcome Catherine Ecroyd '69 to our Board. She currently lives in Ottawa, Kansas, and will be a welcomed addition to our team. Xi Chapter is always looking for alumnae to serve on the Corporation Board. It is very rewarding to know we are making a difference for women, as we work to provide a safe and comfortable living space for our sisters. If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact me. Addison has admirably followed in Caren's footsteps and provided amazing leadership for Xi Chapter. After working for Sigma Kappa as a leadership consultant, Addison has been a strong advocate of Greek life in general as a capital campaign consultant for Pennington & Company, which is based here in Lawrence. Here is a little bit about Addison and what she adds to our sisterhood. What is your favorite part of being Xi Chapter's Advisory Board Supervisor? Through my leadership consultant experience, I discovered I enjoy helping local chapters because I can make more of a lasting impact. Although I am from Columbia, Missouri, and was born to have an intense rivalry with Lawrence, I reached out to Xi Chapter so I could connect with women close to where I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I have loved jumping into a new chapter environment and campus culture. Jayhawks are great people! I truly love advising and mentoring young women and watching them grow into bold, strong women. The relationships with the members and officers are the reason all of us on the Advisory Board give back! What is your vision for Xi Chapter? My goal as the Advisory Board Supervisor is to challenge Xi Chapter to reach its full potential that I know it's capable of. I have witnessed amazing growth in just these last two years that has made the chapter stronger. While the chapter creates new ambitious goals each year, it is my role to make sure the women stay on track to enhance their sorority experience. More than receiving national recognition, I wish to see women enjoy their four years at Xi and leave college with a strong sense of pride and gratitude for their experience in Sigma Kappa at KU. What are your favorite hobbies? While I travel often for work, I enjoy personal travel to explore new cities and cultures. I also enjoy exercising at Orangetheory Fitness, visiting the Nelson Atkins Art Museum, running on the Trolley Trail, and playing in a local kickball league. I can be contacted at xiabs.skku@gmail.com. Getting to Know Advisory Board Supervisor Addison Reed, Delta Upsilon '11
