Page 2 H H H Sigma star T he women of Sigma Kappa excelled in all areas during the spring semester. We went into the semester fresh off an exciting winter break, in which nine sisters had the honor of attending Sigma Kappa's 2020 Regional Leadership Conference in Los Angeles, California. It was a wonderful opportunity for sisters in various leadership positions to hone their personal strengths, learn the importance of inclusivity, and create our goals for the year, all while bonding with sisters from other Sigma Kappa chapters. STRENGTHS OF SIGMA KAPPA From philanthropy to academics, Xi Chapter has many reasons to be proud. We raised more than $20,000 for the Lawrence Walk to End Alzheimer's. Xi Chapter's fall GPA of 3.41 was a 0.01 improvement from last spring and was the fifth best mark among KU sororities. Through spring informal recruitment, we welcomed eight new members to our sisterhood. We are thrilled for them to join Xi Chapter and can't wait for them to learn more about Sigma Kappa's values. PROUDLY REPRESENTING XI CHAPTER AT ROCK CHALK REVUE We were honored to perform in the 71st annual Rock Chalk Revue. It is highly competitive to even be chosen to participate, as the judges only select five out of the original nine groups. This year, we partnered with Phi Gamma Delta and wrote our original show, Down to Earth. We received awards for Best Use of Theme and Script and Most Comedic Actor. STAYING STRONG DURING UNCERTAIN TIMES While the end of spring semester brought a lot of changes and challenges with COVID-19, our sisters have done their best to stay in touch and lift each other up. I want to give a very special thank-you to our Advisory and Corporation Boards for all that they do.
