I loved my Swiffer, but I did not like the price of the cleaning pads. And my readers didn't like it, either. They sent me their tips on what they used instead. Collisions • One person was taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in a four-vehicle collision at 2:05 p.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate 5, north of Antelope Boulevard. Russell Myer, 84, of Red Bluff, who told officers he lost consciousness, causing the initial collision, was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Myer, who was driving a Toyota SUV north on I-5 behind the others, collided with a Chevy Impala driven by Deanna Rosecrans of Cottonwood, sending her into a 2000 Kia driven by Daniel Dalphino of Chico, which collided with a 2007 Volvo driven by Rosetta Bullan of Anderson. • A Gerber resident received minor injuries in a collision at 6 p.m. Sunday on San Benito Avenue, south of Adelfa Street. Fire The Corning CalFire station discovered a fire about a block from the station at Ron's Auto Body, 631 Second St., during a drill. The fire, which did $25,000 damage to the vehicle, was caused by an electrical short in the vehicle that had been brought in that afternoon for repairs.
