Spring 2020
A
s the building project becomes more distant in the rearview
mirror, the Association Board is inaugurating new committees to
stay in front of issues and keep FarmHouse out front. Vice President
Mark Freese '78 presented the idea last fall, and we are now in the
implementation phase. All board members are on at least one of these
three committees.
Chapter House Facility
This committee will be tasked with establishing protocol to keep the new
house in good shape. This includes checkout and repair policies when
the students move out at the end of semesters. They will also determine
maintenance and budgets for upcoming years, as well as handle the few
items that extend past the new building warrantee period.
Brotherhood Development and Alumni Relations
In a world of "it's not what you know, it's who you know" and so many
FarmHouse alumni success stories, we have decided that there is much
more that can be done to help alumni from different generations meet
each other, as well as meet the actives. We all know there are so many
opportunities generated from human networking. This committee will
come up with more ways to create networking opportunities for all, and it
might be fun.
Financial and Risk Management
There are a number of bullets listed under this committee's responsibility,
including safeguard policies, contracts/leases, insurance, and bylaws—all
the really fun stuff. This committee, along with the rest of the board, is
getting a crash course in risk management with the COVID-19 situation.
We hope you and your families are healthy and prioritizing your health.
During these uncertain times, we have never been more thankful for the
enduring brotherhood that FarmHouse provides!
Fraternally,
