Once they got Kevin's parents on board, it was smooth sailing. "I felt like I fit right in with my pledge class," Kevin said. "I loved the comradery we shared and continue to share to this day." Being a member of the MO Alpha Chapter taught Kevin how to best deal with a broad spectrum of personalities. "I was the Phi Chi jokester," Kevin said. "In this position, I had to come up with a joke every night after dinner, so it was important to find something everyone could laugh at." Of course, it wasn't all joking around. Kevin and his brothers frequently held study sessions together to help each other achieve academic success. "The jump from high school to college was huge," Kevin said. "Getting advice from upperclassman taught me how to prioritize my studies." These lessons would prove to be invaluable, especially when he entered law school at Mizzou upon graduation. "If it weren't for the study habits I developed at the Phi Delt House, I don't know how law school would've gone for me," Kevin said. After completing law school and passing the Bar Exam, Kevin got a job at the Attorney General's office in Boone County where he worked from 1987 to 1990. In 1990 Kevin was hired as the assistant prosecutor, and three years later he was elected as the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney. He held this position until 2007 when he was elected as a circuit judge for both Boone and Callaway counties. Today, Kevin is the presiding circuit judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit in Missouri. "I enjoy seeing brothers who practice law from time to time," Kevin said. "It's nice having those connections in the professional world." Kevin keeps in touch with many of his MO Alpha brothers, especially those from his pledge class. In June, he and a few brothers will get together at his family farm to relive old memories and catch up. Kevin also enjoys the annual alumni golf tournaments and has contributed to the building fund to help sustain the chapter. He even gets back to visit the chapter house from time to time. "I found my composite at the new house and had fun sharing some memories with the active guys last year," Kevin said. "I was really impressed with the state of the facility, especially the presidential suite."
