PRSRT STD U.S. POSTAGE PAID KPI Delta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi Kansas State University P.O. Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested BROTHERS MAINTAIN FRATERNITY GROWTH S igma Chi has made significant achievements these past few months, such as outstanding performance in intramurals, an improved fraternity GPA, philanthropy involvement, and more. Our GPA last semester was a cumulative 3.09, which placed us in the third quartile among the other fraternities on campus. Our previous semesters have been below at or below a 3.0, and this represents progress toward our goal of a house GPA in the first quartile. We maintain our dedication to our Derby Days philanthropy to make sure every event goes well. Sigma Chi also participates in other philanthropies by attending and assisting sororities with their own events. SEMESTER HIGHLIGHTS • Spring recruitment welcomed eight new members to our chapter • First fraternity honored to work security at the athletic events • Ongoing planning of Homecoming events with other fraternities on campus • Successful Family Day and eventful Dad's Day • Attended 70th Anniversary Celebration with many alumni Active Sigma Chi brothers would also like to thank our alumni for taking the time to visit us, attending a dinner and participating in other events with the chapter. It is always an honor and a privilege to see everyone who comes up, and we can't wait for the next event! We wish to continue our progress in campus involvement, intramural success, and excellent chapter performance. On behalf of the chapter, thank you for the constant support. They celerbated Tori's famous chicken wing day! O n Saturday, Dec. 7, a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the found- ing of the Delta Upsilon Chap- ter of Sigma Chi was held. A total of 44 brothers attended (along with 24 spouses), some coming from as far away as Califor- nia, Ohio, Texas and Washington, D.C. In addition, 15 of the current undergraduate brothers attended. The breakdown of alumni by decades is as follows: four from the '50s, 15 each from the '60s and '70s, four from the '80s, and one from the '00s. The banquet was held at the Bluemont Hotel in Aggieville on Saturday night. Several brothers also got together on Friday night in the hotel bar to re-establish old friendships. On Saturday morning, we had an informal breakfast at the chapter and got a chance to tour the newly remodeled chapter house. Beautiful! And what would a trip to Man- hattan be without stopping at Kites. So on Saturday afternoon a bunch of us met up at Kites to share memories and argue over who would pay the bar tab. Sigma Chi Celebrates 70th Anniversary As the old saying goes, "A good time was had by all!" Thanks to all who attended. Those that didn't attend missed out on an important and rare opportunity. We missed you and hope to see you for the 75th! In Hoc Signo Vinces, Andrew Skow '68
