THE NU'S 4 Χ Ω Never A Dull Moment at Nu Chapter Undergraduate Sisters Motivated for More Success T he last few months of Chi Omega have been very exciting. We had a successful recruitment process in September, followed by a great Big/Little week, fun sisterhood events, a new member retreat, and exciting Chapter meetings. Second semester brought in a new executive board that traveled to Firesides Convention to prepare for a great year! All About Academics Our Panhellenic recently developed a new system for grade reporting, resulting in a delay in our grade report for all sororities. Our most recent reported GPA from spring 2020 was a 3.51, which was higher than the sorority average of 3.49. To improve academics, we have revamped our scholarship website with new study tips, study room reservations, and resources for tutors on campus. "It is my goal to help all my sisters achieve academically while also making sure they are taking care of their mental health," Vice President Izzy Leviton '19 said. Making Wishes Come True In October, we hosted our annual Walk It Out for Wishes event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin Foundation. e whole Chapter participated and raised around $30,000. We can't wait for next year's event and we look forward to Cookie Dough with Chi O this semester. Chi Omega Capitalizes on Continuous Open Bidding We successfully recruited more than 90 new members this fall, bringing our campus total to 213 members! A new development in our recruitment program this year is our participation in Continuous Open Bidding (COB). is allowed us to accept 15 new members in February. "I am extremely excited to see what's in store for not only this recruitment season but in fall 2020," Recruitment Chairwoman Lindsay Cohen '19 said. New Member Educator Emery Jochnau '19 added, "I feel like the program is changing to be geared more toward developing bonds throughout the Chapter and I have a big role in orchestrating that. Initiation this semester was amazing, and now that we will be initiating in the fall, I am excited to get to know so many of the younger sisters." Becoming a Stronger Sisterhood e Chapter has participated in many activities this year. We have members go to Shorewood Hills Elementary each week to play and interact with the kids during their aer-school program. We also had a Kamps workout class on October 30 and a laser tag sisterhood event on November 16. Last, but not least, we had sisterhood events at Dragonfly Yoga and painting at the house. Making a Difference in Madison e following members show our Chapter's involvement on campus in various clubs and organizations. We kickstarted the weekend at Madison Children's Museum with Walk It Out for Wishes, which was a great opportunity for Chapter members and our parents to support, honor, and fundraise for children who have overcome life-threatening illnesses. "It was so incredible to see the hard work and preparation our Chapter put into the event really pay off and to do so in the name of such a worthy cause," Former Philanthropy Chairwoman Julia Eisenberg '19 said. "It is amazing to be a part of the Make-A-Wish mission and we are already looking forward to our spring philanthropy fundraiser, Cookie Dough with Chi O." e next day, families celebrated game day with a Badgers 24-22 win over Iowa. We concluded the weekend with a brunch at the house on Sunday morning. Parents Weekend was a highlight of the year, as Chi Omega always enjoys welcoming family members. e success of our Chapter relies so much on our parents and alumnae and our gratitude for them is endless. We are already excited for next year's Sydney Varga '20, Amanda Weil '19, and Ryan Sterling '20 at our Big/Little Revelation. Josie Fried '19, Jordan Levy '19, and Rachel Dubyak '19 get ready for our philanthropy musical show. Parents Weekend, which will surely be another opportunity to show our parents the magic of Chi Omega. Nu Chapter Charges On Nu Chapter has been filled with events for everyone and we can't wait to see what the future holds. We hope to surpass our previous totals for our upcoming philanthropy events and have another successful recruitment. We want to expand our alumnae base and improve our career and development events. Again, we want to thank all alumnae for supporting us and helping Nu Chapter thrive. Our house is always open to our sisters and we would love to see you all soon.
