Notes from MIZ KΔ KAPPA DELTA | UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI | WINTER 2020 W hat an exciting quarter we've had. The women of Kappa Delta continue improving Epsilon Iota Chapter while exceling individually in academics and outside involvement. It's truly amazing to see the growing confidence among members as they receive support from sisters around them and become more involved in our chapter. 606 Welcomes Home a Spirited PC '19 This fall, we welcomed home 74 amazing new members. Emma Rowe '17, our previous vice president, membership, worked tirelessly over her term to organize and execute the most successful recruitment Epsilon Iota has seen in recent years. Our Bid Day theme was Welcome to the Jungle, where members dressed in their favorite animal prints. Members Excel Academically Active members worked hard this past quarter to improve our academic success. Our chapter GPA increased from 3.45 in fall 2018 to 3.49 in spring 2019. Out of the 21 sororities on campus, Kappa Delta now ranks sixth. In addition to our outstanding academics, over 80% of women hold leadership positions in outside organizations. We are so proud of all the hard work our members put in to grow themselves and others. First Confidence Week Brings Community Together Our first Confidence Week was very successful, raising almost $9,000 for Rainbow House and Prevent Child Abuse America. We had a blast handing out scrunchies and confidence cards to students and staff on campus. At our annual late-night dinner, Mac 'n' Cheese with the KDs, over 1,200 community members filed through our doors for the delicious mac 'n' cheese bar and garlic toast. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and support the organizations we hold so dearly. Epsilon Iota Places Fourth in Homecoming Kappa Delta was a force to be reckoned with during Homecoming 2019. We were paired with the men of Theta Chi to compete in the exciting festivities this fall. The theme for our pairing was Star Wars and we are pleased to report our fourth-place overall finish. We have built upon our competitive edge and look forward to Greek Week this spring. Sisters are so grateful for our alumnae support and we would love to get to know you better! Though you may not recognize the faces when you walk through our doors, we hope you always feel right at home at 606. Please email me if you plan on visiting the chapter house.
