John was a gentleman who was respected and loved by his many friends and family. He loved to sing at jams, play bass guitar, Karaoke, traveling in him motorhome, his new truck, Ovaltine, Nascar, and retirement. He is survived by the love of his life, Caleen and his three sons Mi- chael (Bobett), Mark (Katie) and Jason (Arina), and nine grand- children. A memorial for John was held at the Desert Gold RV Resort in Brenda, Thursday, February 13, at 2:30pm. All were invited to come and enjoy this country music cel- ebration in honor of our dear John. John had a genuine love for peo- ple and always saw the best in ev- eryone. Reta C. Peek Taylor was born on March 19, 1955 in Longmont, Colorado to Donald Ira Peek and Agnes J. Marquart Peek. She was the youngest of 3 children, Gloria Hill and Randy Peek. She graduated early in 1972 from Longmont High School. She met and married Carl Gordon Taylor in April 1973. She was blessed in 1983 with the love of her life, her son, Derek Gordon Tay- lor of Loveland, Colorado. She retired from a long lucrative career with Hewlett Packard/Agi- lent/Keysight. She furthered her education with a degree in project management at Villanova Univer- sity through her work. She traveled the world for her job helping set up inventory systems in various coun- tries. She was very active in the com- munity also. She served on the disas- ter relief team for the Red Cross in Larimer County Colorado. She was the project manager for the building of a new station for the Wellington Volunteer Fire Department in Wel- lington, Colorado. She also served for many years on the board of direc- tors and the president of the Auxilia- ry. She spent many a sleepless night (in-between working) cooking meals for the volunteers. In 2005 she was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and told she only had 6 months to live. She en- dured the chemotherapy and radia- tion treatments, always keeping her positive outlook. 15 years later, she is going down in the record books to say, don't give up. She succumbed to a bad heart on December 11, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother and will join them in the Hi-Jolly cemetery in Quartzsite, Arizona. She is survived by her son Derek Gordon Taylor, his wife Whitney, 2 sons, Triston and Kiegan, Loveland, Colorado, her sister, Gloria Anne Hill, Quartzsite, Arizona, her sister, Paula Marie Els- berry, many nephews and nieces. There will be an informal memorial at the Alliance Church in Quartzsite Arizona on what would have been her 65th birthday, March 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm with a celebration of life potluck. There will be another me- morial in Colorado for her friends and family there, at a later date. DEADLINE : WED.
