3 GAMMA RHO REPORT A s the spring 2020 semester begins, it's nice to reflect on Gamma Rho Chapter's success over the last year. ACADEMICS AND PHILANTHROPY With a 3.187 GPA, Gamma Rho has the 10th best GPA of 33 IFC fraternities. After many years of trial and error, we now have two separate annual philanthropic events. Brother Mick Deaver '19 partnered with Autism Speaks U for our spring signature event, The Autism Awareness Walk, which had more than 900 people sign up to attend and raised more than $6,000. Brother Collin Leach '19 put together a philanthropy event in place of Homecoming and raised over $6,000 once again. We have contributed 2,000 service hours and raised $12,000, ranking us fourth overall in both philanthropic dollars raised and service hours worked among all IFC chapters at MU. CAMPUS LEADERSHIP One of the more important achievements this year was Brother Terrell Christian '17 being elected to represent ΑΤΩ on the IFC executive board as head of Judicial Board Procedures. He will handle all conduct within the IFC community for 2020. RECRUITMENT Brother Jackson Flanagin '17, former recruitment chairman, absolutely crushed recruitment. His numbers with formal recruitment speak for themselves, as more than 200 new members preferenced ΑΤΩ as their first overall choice out of all IFC fraternities. There were only 400 new members overall. ACHIEVEMENTS At the ΑΤΩ National Awards Banquet last summer, Gamma Rho Chapter received the honorable mention True Merit Award, Excellence Awards for recruitment, philanthropy, and academics, and I was given the Storm Strap Presidential Award from Wynn Smiley. To cap off the year, the Man of Service Award, presented by the MU IFC, was generously given to me. This honor could not be possible without every brother. Gamma Rho Chapter showed tremendous growth last year in every category, and our growth will only continue. The men in this Chapter are dedicated to not only themselves and their academics, but also ΑΤΩ, and this year's resume proves just that.
