F
or over 160 years, Eta Chapter has been a cornerstone of
Sigma Chi and the standard bearer of the South. Chartered on
October 10, 1857, Eta Chapter is the second-oldest chapter on
the University of Mississippi campus and the oldest operating chapter
in all of Sigma Chi.
Eta Chapter has been the home away from home for thousands
of young men at Ole Miss. During our time as undergraduates
we learned the valuable lessons of leadership, courage, wisdom,
ambition, and integrity, among others. Sigs have a long tradition of
being leaders socially, academically, and throughout campus. Our
experiences as undergraduates helped mold our lives aer college.
Sigs have gone on to be influential throughout their communities as
scholars, lawyers, doctors, businessmen and more. e connections
formed throughout our years as undergraduates have undoubtedly
helped us become who we are today. ose late-night conversations
with brothers down the hall or bonds formed over chapter dinners
all played a part in making Sigma Chi one of the most important
decisions in our lives.
As we look to the next generation of Sigs, we want to provide a home
that is safe, modern, and equipped to accommodate the size and
needs of a growing chapter. e time is now to ensure the Sigma Chi
experience we cherish is available for future Sigs.
