Χ Ω 2 The Tau Beta Hoot Mary Alice Littlejohn Flanagan '69 shared, "Margo has one of the world's greatest laughs! I can hear it plainly in my mind. She was a person who laughed often. She could be very funny herself and always had a great sense of humor." Keeping Chi Omega ever at heart, Margo has cherished the wonderful relationships she formed with her Tau Beta sisters and remains close with at least a dozen Chi Omegas. "We have always had so much fun together," Barbara Lewis Perry '69 recalled. "Margo has been one of my closest friends since we graduated. We traveled all over the world together with many other longtime friends." Not long after graduating from OSU and getting married, Margo and her husband, Kent, moved to Madison, Wisconsin, when he was transferred for work. Unbeknownst to Margo, Nancy Wightman King '69 had also recently relocated to Madison because of her husband's job and didn't know anyone in town. "I was never so glad to see someone," Nancy stated. "We painted together, shopped, played bridge, and endured the coldest winter I can remember. I've always looked up to her and will always cherish our times together. Margo is an exceptional lady." Although Margo achieved success in her own right before becoming a Chi Omega, her membership in Tau Beta helped prepare her for future professional endeavors. "She developed leadership and management skills which assisted her in owning her own bridal business," Beverly Dickson Philbeck '69 said. Nancy Deaver Sharrock '69 added, "Her membership and leadership roles in Chi Omega further helped her to develop the skills that propelled her in her career." After graduating, Margo worked as a couture buyer at Miss Jackons's in Tulsa before opening Beshara's Formal Wear and Bridal Salon; she sold her store and retired in 2007. Margo and her husband, Kent, have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren. Together, they've generously donated their time, energy, talents, and money to many organizations in Tulsa. They've also been avid supporters of OSU football, basketball, golf, and academics. Margo was recently diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's and lives in a memory care unit in a Tulsa retirement community. What three words best describe Margo? "Loving, loyal, and fun—still is!" – Terry Nostrand Dupree '68 "Generous, loyal, and classy." – Barbara Lewis Perry '69 "Classy, talented, and fun."– Beverly Dickson Philbeck '69 "Intelligent, fun, and beautiful."– Nancy Deaver Sharrock '69 An Ideal Chi O Woman (Continued from page 1) Kay McKinney Hendricks '50 is still painting and doing native bead work.
