E laine Bradley Agather '74 was drawn to Tri Delta because it aligned with her values as a young collegiate and was a well-respected and involved chapter on campus. Theta Gamma focused on the development of young women as members of the community and provided sisterhood. Now that her two daughters are affiliated with Greek life, the power of sisterhood has become that much more impactful and meaningful. Bradley, her oldest, is a Theta and Lorene is a Tri Delta at TCU. "Knowing both my daughters could bond over their Greek experience was wonderful." Seeing her daughters thrive in the Greek environment allowed the memories and foundations created during her time at OU to resurface. As a first generation college attendee, she was blessed to have her family's support and the support of her extended family within Tri Delta. She remembers feeling proud when her parents were able to visit her at Theta Gamma's beautiful chapter house, and meet her sisters. Those relationships she formed and women she met at OU were invaluable to her life and later career. "Seeing so many women enter into fields not typical for women in the '60s and '70s was inspiring to me." These role models encouraged Elaine to be bold and brave. After earning her B.A. in history and economics and receiving her MBA from the University of Texas, Elaine began her career in 1979 with Chemical Bank of New York. She became chairman of the Dallas region for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in 1999. She also serves as South and Midwest region head and managing director of the Private Bank at J.P. Morgan. Elaine acknowledges her success was furthered by the professional mannerisms she learned through Theta Gamma chapter meetings and values learned as a member. "Theta Gamma gave me leadership opportunities and a chance to lead, which I took with me into my business life." To Elaine, Theta Gamma represents friendship, belonging, and community. To preserve all that Tri Delta stands for she is supporting the Building on Excellence at 1611 College campaign. "I want women to have a place like I had; for them to meet new friends, have their parents come visit them, and feel the sisterhood. It's so important during those years to have that physical space, and I want to make sure that space continues to thrive." Elaine encourages her sisters to "think back on what experiences helped you become who you are, and if the answer is Theta Gamma you should support it due to the strong impact it has had on you. There are so many paths that I could have taken through college but being a part of Theta Gamma grounded me and gave me a foundation. It's important to give back to something that gave so much to us."
