Anchored in Tradition, Building Our Future Delta Gamma, University of Arkansas P.O. Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested REBUILDING ALPHA OMEGA'S LEGACY Collegians Inspired to Stay Anchored at the University of Arkansas 625 West Maple Street is a place to gather, a place to make memories and, most importantly, the new home of Alpha Omega. Over the weekend of September 20, we officially opened the doors to our new home, once again anchoring ourselves to the University of Arkansas. With hundreds of alumnae and collegians present, the weekend was full of memories that will last a lifetime. AΩ ACCOLADES In the nearly four years since Delta Gamma returned to campus, our chapter has reached major milestones to impact the community. From being recognized by our local Lions Club for our continued service to raising more than $50,000 for the Delta Gamma Foundation, our members are dedicated to making an impact in Fayetteville. But our membership shines beyond philanthropic work. Advisory Team Chairman Julie Braznell Gaddy '83, was awarded Outstanding Panhellenic Adviser of the Year; we obtained the Patricia Petersen Danielson Award the first year we were eligible; and Delta Gamma made history with the first African American Panhellenic president at the University of Arkansas. Alpha Omega has proven that we are at the University of Arkansas to Do Good for good. WELCOMING 134 NEW DGS This fall, we had our most successful recruitment yet. We gained 134 new members and hosted our first Bid Day at our new home! ALUMNAE SUPPORT ESSENTIAL TO AΩ'S SUCCESS As a refounding member of Alpha Omega on 2016, I had no idea the experiences that lay ahead. Alumnae and collegiate development consultants kept telling us about the new chapter house we'd have by the fall of 2019, but they never could have prepared us for the home that the legacy of Alpha Omega built. This new home wouldn't have been possible without alumnae support. Our alumnae have shown me and the other collegians that Delta Gamma is not just for four years, but for life. In the Bonds, Abby Evans '17 chapter president (972) 955-1386 arkansasdgpresident@gmail.com alumnae returning to campus for the dedication and treated us to a cookout with cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings. The weekend would see more alumnae arriving every day and Sunday, the long-awaited day, was no exception. The culmination of hundreds of hours in meetings, years of planning, and decades of waiting gathered hundreds of Delta Gamma alumnae on Maple to play yet another part in our history. The columns on the front porch were wrapped with rope, linked in the center with a Celtic knot. A welcome home sign billowed from the front balcony as dignitaries from U of A, Delta Gamma, our collegiate officers, and members of house corporation stood below. At the strike of 1:30, confetti cannons exploded from the upper balconies and the rope was released. We then walked through the lower courtyard and gathered in the chapter room one last time. Following tearful, heartfelt remarks by our alumnae and collegians, we returned to the dining room for a reception. As I was driving home, I thought about how proud I am of so many sisters and how each played a distinct role in bringing Alpha Omega home. Alumnae from all decades worked together as one, giving of their time, talent, or treasure, to ensure we succeeded in what we started. Ensuring our collegians know they have a history and giving alumnae a new future. And as always, remaining In the Bonds. I was almost back to Tulsa when I realized I'd made it by 1002.
