Well, the ladies have been gathering the 1st Tuesday of the month for lunch at various local restaurants ever since. The ladies order off the menu and share a little bit about themselves or current events. It's been a great way for newcomers to meet oth- ers. Tuesday, Nov. 5th starting at 12 noon. For our Lunches, please come early and pay by 11:45, Lunch is served by 12 noon. Donation is only $3.50. You can call ahead to reserve lunches. LUNCHES ARE BEING SERVED MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 12 NOON SHARP. Yard Sale is 3rd Saturday of the month all year. 7am-noon. Craft Show 3rd Friday November through March BINGO on Saturdays. We will be meeting in the big hall of the Quartzsite Senior Center from 9am until 3pm every Tuesday until April. We have sev- eral things lined up for this season in addition to our February 7 & 8, 2020 Quilt Show. Bonnie and Ken will be satisfying our fabric needs the fi rst Tues- day of each month. We also have someone offering to hold a begin- ner quilting class at their park on a separate day. Dues are still $10 plus your Senior Center Member- ship. I am looking forward to see- ing everyone soon. ~Barb Williams Quilters update Quartzsite Police Explorers Post 928 will host a Jail 'Em & Bail 'Em fundraiser Saturday & Sunday, November 9th & 10th during Buck Connors Western Days at Town Park. You can place a "war- rant" out for an "arrest" for your friends, family and coworkers. The minimum cost is $5 for the warrant. Bail cost is to match, but not exceed the warrant cost. This is striclty for the sake of fun and to raise money in support of the Explorers Post 928. You've got to see the incredible woodworking on the "jail" by Dave "Bear" Collier! Come by the Park Saturday and Sunday, November 9th & 10th. For details contact QPD at 928-927-4644. Jail & Bail fundraiser for QPD Explorers Wanted: Retired couple interested in the history of Quartzsite to man- age the Museum and tell people about the Tyson's Well Stage Sta- tion and other points of interest in the area. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a. m. To 4 pm, excluding holidays when the museum is closed. Docent's duties include cleaning, security, and maintenance of the mu- seum and grounds. Light bookkeep- ing and reporting. The couple will receive an RV spot with full hookups on the premises, with Wi-Fi plus a monthly stipend. Please call 928- 502-1255 to arrange an interview. Quartzsite Chamber & Tourism together with the Quartzsite Coalition hosts a free Quartzsite Community Expo, Friday, November 22, 2019 - 10am- 2pm at the Senior Center, 40 Moon Mountain Ave. This free event will provide attend- ees information on services pro- vided to the community. If you're interested in having a table, the suggested donation to Senior Cen- ter is only $5/table for exhibitors. Open to service providers, busi- nesses, organizations, clubs, civic entities, etc. Contact the Rain at the Chamber, 928-927-5200. Community Expo planned Nov. 22 Calling all chili fans! Coyote Fresh Foods is sponsoring the Cowboy Chili Cook Off on Saturday, November 9th during Buck Connors Western Days! Local chili afi cionados are invited to show off their skill and enter the contest for special trophy plus $100 cash! Chili may be hot and spicy or mild and fl avor- ful. It could be meaty or vegetarian and green or red. But it must taste the best to win top honors! Application for cooks is only $5! The public is invited to taste and vote for your favorite chili. Tasting starts at 11am and is only $5 per person. Come on down to the park and join the fun! A refreshing selection of beer and other beverages will also be available to cool tasters' palates.
