Front row, from left: Grant Frieh '19, Casey Van Kirk '19, Tanner Erickson '19, Brandon Bulat '19, Carter Johnson '19, Adham Nedd-Fields '19, Mason Suckow '19, and Jason Barwick '19. Back row: Tyler Williams '19, Griffin Kelly '19, Jeremiah Uju '19, Brandon Juarez '19, Sam Ringham '19, Max Diblasi '19, Andrew Oppong '19, and Parker Canning '19. ATO Remains Active with Philanthropic Efforts During the 2018-19 school year, we raised more than $25,000 from our various philanthropy events. We hosted philanthropy events big and small, such as cohosting a donuts and coffee sale on campus to Desserts After Dark with Alpha Chi Omega. We have numerous events planned for the remainder of the fall semester, including our new signature event, ATΩ Harvest. Strength in Recruitment Numbers Gamma Upsilon was thrilled to welcome 16 new members last spring, the most of any fraternity on campus. We followed that up this fall by adding 35 more new members. They have all exemplified great character and have already made a tremendous impact at ISU. For example, Jeremiah Uju '19 and Luke Larsen '19 attended Building Up Brothers, a Sexual Assault Prevention seminar held by the Iowa State Interfraternity Council, on September 21. A Busy, But Fun October On October 11-12, our chapter hosted a new pilot program with ATΩ National that focused on elevating the individual member to in turn elevate the chapter. Gamma Upsilon was one of two chapters selected to host this pilot program, which shows the level of respect and admiration that we've earned from the national fraternity. We rounded out the month by having a blast during Homecoming week with Delta Gamma and Lambda Chi Alpha. Abundance of Accolades for ATΩ Last semester, Chris Diaguila '17 was named the Iowa State IFC President of the Year for his tremendous efforts toward improving the ISU Greek community. I have done my best to follow Chris' example, as I was named the Iowa State IFC Scholar of the Year. Beyond just an individual basis, Gamma Upsilon was named the ISU IFC Social Justice Chapter of the Year. Members are also very involved in non-Greek aspects of campus life. Adham Nedd-Fields '19 is the president of the ISU MMA club, Caden Flodstrom '19 and Ben Baca '19 are active members of the Business Council, and Michael Carter '18 joined the University Honors Program. Thank You, Alumni! We couldn't be where we are today without the endless support of our alumni. We cordially invite all our alumni to stop by the chapter house at any time, as we love to see our brothers. We strive to improve upon the successes we've been enjoying the past year! Fraternally, Noah Beukelman '18 Chapter President (651) 955-3388 nbeukelm@iastate.edu Living Up to Standards Ryan Jirik '19, Trent Jean '19, Chris Diaguila '17, Noah Beukelman '18, Anthony Brucato '18, and Andy Lavin '18 receive awards at the Iowa State Fraternity Awards of Excellence Ceremony.
