Indiana Alpha Alumni Volunteer Corporation
Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity
Dear Gentlemen,
Purdue University was happy to welcome back the Indiana Alpha Purdue Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon
earlier this year. The conduct which led to the chapter's expulsion from our campus was not acceptable, and
four years was a fitting suspension. I am heartened to see so many positive changes implemented by the
chapter in the months since their return.
I appreciate also the responsibility taken by the national headquarters, as well as you, the chapter's alumni
leadership, to restore the fraternity to good standing. Work to enact the Balanced Man Program has been
especially impactful, and I hope you'll continue to take an active role in shaping a positive outlook for the
chapter.
As the group looks ahead to the future it envisions for the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon, I understand that
a number of essential repairs are needed to the chapter house, and I hope this fundraising campaign is a
success.
Purdue is committed to fostering a strong Greek community on our campus, so long as each of its members
takes seriously its duty to provide a positive learning and growth experience for our students. I am
optimistic for Sigma Phi Epsilon's future on our campus, and I appreciate greatly all the ways in which you
continue to value partnerships and support your fraternity's success.
Sincerely,
Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr.
President
