THE BEARCAT SIG Zeta Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi at The University of Cincinnati V Fall 2019 ZETA PSI SHINES AFTER SUMMER UPDATES Alumni Support Still Needed to Reach 2019 Annual Fund Goals I t's hard to imagine that our fraternity house will be fifty years old next September! We continue to update and improve our house to keep it a safe, nurturing and exciting place to live and share our brotherhood. This summer we completed cosmetic updates to the third floor, renovated the bathrooms, replaced the drop ceiling in the party room, and upgraded major items as needed. These updates kept Sigma Chi in good shape for recruitment as the chapter welcomed 38 new brothers this fall. HAVE YOU GIVEN TO THE 2019 ANNUAL FUND? There are still more than two months left to help us reach our 2019 annual fund goal of $30,000. Through your generosity, we are able to keep up with the maintenance demands that come with an older chapter house. Whether it's maintaining the house or extending scholarships and leadership opportunities, providing for our active members is one of the most fulfilling aspects of alumni membership. If you have yet to contribute to this year's fund, please consider making a donation. You can easily make your gift online by visiting donate.zetapsisigs.com or mailing a check to Lincoln W. Pavey Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 42605, Blue Ash, OH 45242. Checks should be made out to "The Sigma Chi Building Co." for house improvements (preferred and non-tax deductible) or to the "LWPEF" for leadership programs (tax deductible). PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE With ongoing developments on Straight Street and chapters on campus renovating or rebuilding, the University of Cincinnati we know is changing. Housing has become increasingly competitive as more modern, luxury amenities are desired by today's college students. And we realized that our fifty year old house needs a major facelift to stay relative and competitive. Keeping this in mind, the Sigma Chi Building Company is evaluating the needs of the chapter house and how we can best stay competitive. Zeta Psi continues to recruit the best men on campus, but the state of our home at 2617 University Court will only go so far in the future. We look forward to keeping you apprised of our plans as they unfold. In Hoc Signo Vinces, Steve Knight '74 Interim House Corporation President alumni@zetapsisigs.com Zeta Psi celebrates the dedication for our current chapter house in September of 1970. Nearly 50 years later, it's time for the chapter house to receive a facelift and become a more modern fraternity house.
