A
s our Alpha Delta sisters begin their fall
semester, we should take pride in all that
we have accomplished. Since our public campaign
announcement this spring, Alpha Delta has raised
an additional $115,775 toward It's Our House! The
Campaign for 808 Richmond, bringing our total
to $476,444. Without the support of our generous
alumnae, listed on page 2, this accomplishment
would not be possible, and we are proud to call
these women our sisters.
MEETING OUR SISTERS' NEEDS
Due to these contributions, the renovations remain
on schedule with the existing chapter house
complete. We also received our temporary certified
occupancy license this summer, allowing the women
to move in on August 4. As for the north addition,
both the brickwork and roof are complete, and we
are ready to finish the interior.
Keeping this in mind, we need to celebrate our
successes but remember our work is far from
over. The elevator installation is complete, and we
have mapped out the rooms for the north addition.
The mechanicals have been added and the sheetrock
is progressing. This is on track to be complete and
ready for occupation in October, so it is crucial that
we push forward and aim for our $615,000 goal.
FOUNDERS DAY RIBBON-CUTTING
We've planned a ribbon-cutting and dedication for the
new chapter house, in conjunction with our Founders
Day celebration on Sunday, November 10. The
ribbon cutting begins at 10 a.m., house tours begin at
10:30 a.m., and brunch will be served at 11:15 a.m. in
the new dining/chapter room, and the Founders Day
ceremony will follow shortly after. We also suggest
bringing a $10 donation to cover the cost of brunch
made out to the AHC. Please RSVP by November 1
at 808ribbonceremonyghi@gmail.com.
For those who have given, we cannot thank you
enough for your support. For those who have yet
to make their mark on this historic project, the
need is great and the time is short. Please visit
our convenient donation link at https://tinyurl.
com/y2g7uq5r. Whether it's a gift of $1,000
or $100, any amount will help us take the
necessary steps forward at 808 Richmond.
