FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY Nebraska Chapter / University of Nebraska-Lincoln www.nebraskafarmhouse.org Fall 2019 T he chapter concluded another successful school year in early May. We were proud to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.446, which was the highest among UNL fraternities for the seventh consecutive semester. Graduating seniors were honored and thanked for their time in the fraternity and began new chapters in their lives. Some members will continue their education in graduate programs, while others pursue careers in business, agriculture, and health care. RECRUITING NEW BROTHERS Even though school wasn't in session, our members had an eventful summer. As usual, our biggest accomplishment during the break was recruiting and signing an outstanding class. The 30-member class has an impressive average ACT score of 27 and high school GPA of 3.92. These new members will be pursuing degrees in the agriculture, business, engineering, pre-health, and education. The recruitment process is truly a combined effort of all members of FarmHouse, past and present. Thank you to all alumni who helped recommend potential new members, and to active members who made the effort to meet and talk with so many young men. We especially appreciate the effort and dedication of our recruitment team, which consisted of Cooper Grabenstein '18, Jason Line '18, and Dane Bowen '18. Their mission to gather the best possible group of young men to be members of our fraternity will benefit the chapter for years to come. Members of the junior class work to recruit new FarmHouse brothers at a recruitment party near North Bend. The chapter welcomed 30 new members this fall. SPOTLIGHTING OUR MEMBERS There were several individual highlights from the past year as well. Jason Line '18, Brock Wordekemper '18, Nathan Netz '17, and Clay Rathman '17 studied at Oxford University in England for six weeks. Michael Anderson '18 completed an operational finance internship for the Florida Panthers NHL team over the summer. I was humbled to be selected for Homecoming Court and I hope to see another brother chosen this year. With the fall semester underway, we are looking forward to the rest of this school year with much anticipation. We expect to have members leading the campus in the classroom, within student organizations, and campus honor societies. As a chapter, we have goals to lead fraternities in grades, promote a fun and safe social environment on campus, and start a new philanthropy event. Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see some of you this Homecoming weekend! Fraternally, Braden Dvorak '17 Chapter President b_dvorak16@hotmail.com
