To the Women of Tau Beta Chapter of Chi Omega
310 South Monroe Street

Dear Chi Omega Alumnae:
I would like to extend my congratulations to the Tau Beta House Corporation Board of Chi Omega
on your decision to renovate your Chapter House. Oklahoma State University appreciates the
leadership your undergraduates and alumni have provided the University for the past 100 years,
and the administration fully endorses this project as a key element in the continuity and success
of the sorority.
It is my pleasure to report that the Greek system is alive and well at Oklahoma State. It has
been and will continue to be an essential element of our campus. After the fall 2018 recruitment,
the sorority community has over 2,400 members in 13 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)
chapters. These large numbers can be challenging to manage in some facilities without renovations.
Other fraternities and sororities are planning and carrying out projects to improve their chapter
houses, which mirrors an ongoing University initiative to improve the undergraduate housing
experience. The decision to provide an excellent living and social environment with first-rate study
and meeting accommodations will enhance the overall college experience for our undergraduates.
I applaud the launching of a capital campaign for Chi Omega. I do hope that the graduates of the
Tau Beta Chapter will respond to the capital campaign with a degree of generosity that reflects an
appreciation for what Chi O has done for them, as well as a desire to see the Chapter continue to
be a positive factor in the lives of young ladies for generations to come.
Again, congratulations and best wishes for a great campaign!
Sincerely,
V. Burns Hargis
