I. Introduction
Pennington & Company is pleased to submit this report to the Delta Xi House Corporation.
The report is in response to the request for a feasibility study to determine the potential for
a capital funds campaign of $800,000 renovate the chapter house at 901 Richmond Avenue.
A. Primary objectives
1. Assess the readiness and willingness of the Delta Xi Chapter constituency
to support a fundraising effort.
2. Evaluate the dollar potential of a campaign and formulate
recommendations.
3. Begin a process that will inform, educate, and cultivate major gift prospects
for the campaign (pre-solicit major donors).
4. If feasible, develop a plan and recommendations for conducting a campaign.
B. How the study was conducted
1. A personal letter signed by Teresa Keith McKinney '72, Heidi Reimann
Miles '80, and Amber Phillips Condict '89 was sent to 90 alumnae to
introduce the project and Pennington & Company's involvement. Potential
interviewees were identified by alumnae who participated in a focus group
meeting, wealth data mining, and prospect research. Additionally, 135
surveys were sent to house corporation board members, focus group
participants, potential mid-range alumnae donor prospects, and others
closely related to the project.
2. Of the 225 potential participants:
Sixty-six interviews were conducted.
o Twenty interviews were conducted in person.
o Nine interviews were conducted by telephone due to location
and availability of the alumnae.
o Thirty-seven surveys were completed and returned.
Twenty-two alumnae declined to be interviewed.
