II. Organizational Readiness
A. Status of alumnae records and geographic representation
This section of the feasibility study analyzes the state and condition of the chapter's
alumnae records, including mailable alumnae, the accuracy of information, the
inclusion of business information, and alumnae distribution.
As of July 15, 2019, the Delta Xi Chapter of Tri Delta has a total of 2,758 alumnae
in the database maintained by Pennington & Company. Of the total membership,
247 (8.95%) are listed as deceased, 167 (6.05%) are considered lost, one (0.04%)
has been expelled, nine (0.33%) have resigned, 14 (0.51%) have requested not to
be mailed, 16 (0.58%) have requested not to be solicited, and 2,304 (83.54%) are
listed as active and mailable.
With only 6% considered lost, Delta Xi Chapter's percentage is under Pennington
& Company's recommended threshold of 10%. However, most alumnae in the
feasibility study had outdated or missing business information, phone numbers, and
email addresses. Complete business information is important for setting cultivation
and solicitation visits, as well as for conducting the extent of prospect research
necessary for a successful capital campaign. To gather this information, further
research should be conducted. An annual biographical update should continue to
be sent by mail and email. Continuing with alumnae outreach and maintaining a
consistent communication schedule will strengthen the accuracy of Delta Xi
Chapter's database.
Pennington & Company conducted an analysis of the percentage of alumnae, per
era, with available phone numbers and email addresses. The table on the following
page shows a breakdown per era.
