B. Attitude and perception of alumnae leadership
In this section of the feasibility study, questions were posed to the interviewees
concerning the university, national organization, and, more importantly, the local
alumnae leadership. Responses are summarized in the following paragraphs.
When discussing the state of the university, many interviewees commented that
they were pleased Mizzou had improved in recent years after the racial issues on
campus. A 1970s alumna noted, "We took a big hit a few years ago. My daughter
didn't want to go there, though. They've focused on diversity and inclusion and

When asked about their affinity toward the international organization, most
interviewees noted little connection to the sorority outside of their Delta Xi Chapter
experience. However, a few interviewees were pleased with the sorority's strong

People gave time and money to the last effort and didn't even get a courtesy call
from the house when their daughters were cut."
Participants were then asked, "How could the alumnae leadership better serve the
Delta Xi Chapter membership?" Many interviewees commented they would like to
be informed of different ways to get involved and would like to see more events.
Additionally, alumnae noted that they would like to see new leadership on the
