will have a direct impact on the chapter's improvement and growth. It will be
crucial to continue to engage alumnae via newsletters and events to prepare a case
for support that highlight's the chapter's plan to overcome this weakness and

B. Attitude and perception of alumnae leadership
In this section of the feasibility study, questions were posed to the interviewees
concerning the University of Mississippi, international organization, and, more
importantly, the local alumnae leadership. Responses are summarized in the
following paragraphs.
When asked about their perception of Ole Miss, alumnae expressed very positive
feelings. Majority of alumnae are strong supporters of the university and hope to
see it continue to grow. Others recognize the university's strong brand across the
country. A 1980s alumna said, "Ole Miss has a fantastic reputation. I think they
still hold true in being a southern institution and remain warm and welcoming."
Overall, alumnae have a strong sense of pride in the institution. A 1970s alumna
said, "I am proud to be an Ole Miss grad. I think they are doing a great job trying
to move the university forward."
Next, alumnae were asked about their perception of the Pi Beta Phi International
Fraternity. Most interviewed alumnae believe the international organization is
strong and doing well. A 1960s alumna said, "I think Pi Phi has a strong reputation
across the country and maintain high standards for their chapters." Many alumnae
remain involved through local alumnae clubs. A 1980s alumna said, "I love being
a part of the alum club. Pi Phi has a strong, positive reputation in Nashville."
Several alumnae mentioned they enjoy receiving the international magazine, The
Arrow. Overall, Mississippi Beta alumnae feel proud of their membership in Pi Beta
Phi, but they have a deeper connection to their chapter of initiation.
