Through campaign, in which several Mississippi Beta alumnae have given.
According to the Shine Through donor list, last updated April 2019, 52 Mississippi
Beta alumnae and the Mississippi Beta undergraduate chapter donated to the
foundation's campaign.
The University of Mississippi does not provide giving records based on fraternity
and sorority membership. However, through focus group meetings and individual
interviews, several alumnae have been identified as strong donors to the university.
Several alumnae also indicated their spouse was a member of a fraternity either at
Ole Miss or another university and they have made, or have planned to, make a
contribution to their spouses' respective organization. Overall, this indicated an
interest in the University of Mississippi, and, with proper cultivation, is also a
positive indicator that alumnae will give back to Pi Beta Phi, which was a major
factor of their experience at the university.
C. Alumnae leadership and readiness
This section of the feasibility study analyzes the chapter's alumnae leadership
readiness, including incorporation status and diversity of era representation within
the alumnae leadership.
The Mississippi Beta of Pi Beta Phi House Association, Inc. is properly
incorporated in the state of Mississippi according to the Mississippi Department of
State. The board, as listed in the feasibility study brochure, consists of one alumna
from the 1960s and eight alumnae from the 1970s.
In any significant fundraising effort, it is important that the entire alumnae
constituency feel well represented and connected to the leadership, as confidence
in and connection to the board will translate to trust in the decisions the CHC makes.
The current board has numerous strong leaders from the chapter, but Pennington &
Company recommends the alumnae leadership strategically recruit volunteers with
wide era representation for CHC, specifically alumnae from the 1980s, 1990s, and
