The following is a breakdown of Mississippi Beta Chapter alumnae by state or
international location.
B. Fundraising history and readiness
This section of the feasibility study analyzes the chapter's fundraising history and
readiness.
The Mississippi Beta Chapter has never completed a major fundraising effort.
However, according to CHC, a small-scale fundraising attempt was completed
during the last renovation in the late 2000s. A solicitation letter signed by Carol
Dempsey Beazley '72 was sent to a targeted group of alumnae. A total of 183
alumnae donated to the housing project yielding approximately $20,000 in gifts.
Mississippi Beta alumnae are in the habit of giving back to the Pi Beta Phi
Foundation. According to the Pi Beta Phi Annual Giving Report, last updated Fall
2017, one alumna gave to the Crest Society (gift of $5,000 to $9,999), four alumnae
gave to the Evelyn Peters Kyle Society (gift of $1,000 to $2,499), three alumnae
gave to the Carnation Society (gift of $500 to $999), three alumnae gave to the
Trustee Society (gift of $250 to $499), and 32 alumnae gave to the Friends level
(gift of $1 to $249). Most recently, the Pi Beta Phi Foundation conducted the Shine
