Hunter is thankful for past chapter presidents such as James Benson '07 for putting Delta Kappa in the position that it is today. Shortly after Delta Kappa received its charter, James and his brothers were able to use the Cow House just off of Greek Row for different chapter activities before eventually moving into the old Kappa Sigma house for a couple of years. Many of the brothers in the founding father class have stayed connected with the chapter since gradu- ating from OU, and they've been incredibly proud of what Delta Kappa has accomplished. "I can't tell you how many guys came back to the house the year that we won the President's Trophy and how much pride and joy that gave us who started it. It's hard to rush guys without a physical structure," James said. "There's a lot of belief, hard work, and sweat that goes into those conversa- tions and efforts without a lot of finances." Now that James and other members of the founding father class have established successful careers, it is important to them to start giving back to Delta Kappa financially. James enjoyed reconnecting with several of his brothers at the 10-year anniversary of Delta Kappa's rechartering. With the chap- ter's centennial coming up in 2021, James is expecting an even bigger celebration. "It's a great opportunity for everybody from every class to come back to Delta Kappa," James said. "I think a lot of the guys, older and younger, are going to come back to see everybody. We're excited about it." Rapid Growth (Continued from page 1) Mom's Day was an amazing event where we celebrated the best moms around. We catered lunch, played a couple of fun games, and had a silent auction that raised more than $2,500 for house improvements. Most of our mothers stayed around to see Delta Kappa take second place in Sooner Scandals. Above: The third annual Gator-Fest philanthropy was a huge success, raising more than $3,500 for the Norman Community After School Program (CASP). For the tug-of-tournament, two to three ATWs coached each sorority team. Right: The inaugural ATW Clothing Drive benefitted The City Rescue Mission.
