Just that support in my formative professional years saw me through. I never was lonely, and the precious memory of my Kappa sisters is with me always." Mary Jean Legg Hilton '67 has wonderful lifelong friendships through KKΓ, and faith and family are at the top of the list of her priorities. "My husband and I have been blessed by involvement in mission projects out of the country, including the Philippines, Hungary, and Georgia over several years." Email: mjhilton1@verizon.net Nancy Knorpp White '67 is co-owner of Knorpp Business Park in Amarillo. Her daughter, Becca White, works in her business park studio designing leather bags and jewelry. Her brand, M Street Studio, can be seen in Vogue (UK) and several other publications displaying her jewelry. "I get to help and work with her on a daily basis—she is a Delta Psi alumna as well," she shared. "All three of us, me, Becca, and my other daughter Amanda, have loved our Kappa sisters and continue to enjoy our relationships with our sisters. Both daughters were with me to receive my 50-year pin in 2017—what a joy it has been!" "When we're together, it's like we're 18 again!" Email: cindybcunning@yahoo.com Janet Birdwell-White '73 and her KKΓ sisters get together often. "I was in the pledge class in fall 1972, and we all still gather!" she shared. "In Dallas, we have an annual Christmas ornament swap and go somewhere fun almost every five years or so. We've been to Newport Beach, Austin, and this summer we'll go to Colorado together for a weekend—just love my time with this group!" Email: kiyastark@yahoo.com D'Ann Cooper '80 is serving as the Executive Presbyter (like a bishop) in Heartland Presbytery for over 100 Presbyterian churches. She also facilitates workshops for care providers for Air Force bases around the U.S., as well as owning her own business, Adventures for the Wild at Heart, which facilitates workshops where humans can connect with animals in the wild. "Kappa was an amazing opportunity for development of leadership skills. It also gave me wonderful connections in sisterhood." Email: deecooperks@aol.com Deborah Glover Means '80 is very active in both the Day Group and Nite Owls in the Richardson/ Plano Alumnae Association. She served on the Delta Psi House Board, and is a full-time volunteer with Kappa, Children's Medical Center of Dallas, and National Charity League. "It has been a blast going to Tech as a parent this year!" she shared. "The lodge is so beautiful and makes me so proud." "I learned I had leadership abilities—something I had never known," she shared. "I absolutely LOVED Kappa and all my sisters. Muzzy and I remain best friends today!" Email: julie.logsdon@region16.net Cherie Shawgo Sanders '88 developed lifelong friends who still keep in touch with each other after all these years. "I am currently battling breast cancer. The outlook is good and chemo is shrinking the tumor," she shared. Cherie will have surgery next and possibly radiation after that. "My advice is to get those yearly mammograms and live a healthy lifestyle to prevent cancer." Email: sand5@suddenlink.net Sunny Coody Orr '89 has a son, Rosser, who pledged Kappa Alpha this last fall at Texas Tech. "It has been fun reconnecting with old friends," she shared. Her daughter is a sophomore in high school. "She was able to come tour the new lodge and loves KKΓ! I look forward to her recruitment." "Kappa is for life and I've truly made lifelong friends!" JoBeth Campbell Vance '04 and her husband, Matt, welcomed a baby boy last May. They are enjoying being parents. "Love the long-lasting friendships and sharing life experiences together: marriage, careers, having babies, and traveling."
