T he 2018 fall semester was very successful for the men of Oklahoma Alpha. We started the year off with Homecoming festivities with the women of Alpha Chi Omega, and we were awarded Most Spirited. We also competed in Freshman Follies with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha, where our very own Josh Galdamez '16 was awarded best male director. Thanks to our focus on our academic mentor program, our chapter placed third out of 22 fraternities with an overall GPA of 3.37. UNDERGRADUATES TAKE IN THE SIGHTS A group of 84 brothers and their dates traveled to Nashville, Tenn., for Goldernheart last semester. Our brothers enjoyed many activities, including visiting the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, attending a Nashville Predators game, visiting the Parthenon, and touring the Country Music Hall of Fame and Vanderbilt University. LEADING BROTHERS Congratulations to our four brothers who were selected for Senior of Significance: Blake Giles '19, Vishnu Patel '19, Cardin Hart '19, and Carson Taber '19. We have four Greek award finalists in their respective classes: Ethan Renner '22, Brent Cunningham '20, Cardin, and Vishnu. We also had brothers selected to prestigious leadership positions on campus for the upcoming year. Jake Wycoff '20 was selected to be on the 2019 Homecoming executive team and Zach Youngblood '20 will serve as the 2019 Freshman Follies Executive. STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE We continue to enjoy the new chapter house and look forward to all the potential that it has to aid us as we strive for excellence in every area. We will be giving it our all this semester in academics, philanthropy, campus events, and intramurals. We hope to continue to make our alumni brothers proud.
