Generations of Chi Omega Meet Mu Chapter's Archivist, Elizabeth Stevens Adams, Omicron '70 A mong the responsibilities of the Chi Omega Association is to preserve our historical treasures, and we are fortunate indeed to have Elizabeth Stevens Adams, Omicron '70, as a director and archivist. Be sure to stop by the "Chibrary" to enjoy one of her latest projects for us: curating member portraits and handmade composites from early years of Mu chapter, researching names, reframing, and labeling. Elizabeth also arranged the contents of the double trophy cases in the Fern Room. Another achievement was finding and labeling architectural plans for renovations that go back decades. These became invaluable in designing the deck on the south side of the chapter house. Elizabeth delved into more than 50 "bankers' boxes" of old records and minutes that went back to 1902, reading every piece and determining what to keep and what to discard. She even found the original Corporate Seal stamp! Other projects Elizabeth completed were finding reprints from the Daily Cal, awards from National Chi Omega, new member scrapbooks, Blue and Gold Yearbooks as early as 1904, and early copies of the Eleusis. These, too, are displayed in the Chibrary. She hopes to grow both collections and asks everyone to consider donating Blue and Gold Yearbooks and Eleusis magazines to the first collection as well as memorabilia such as Chi Omega t-shirts, jewelry, and owls to the second collection. Please write to xocalhousedirector@gmail.com and let us know what you can provide. The annual Corporation Board Awards benefit from Elizabeth's efforts as well! She takes the trophies for engraving of the recipients' names, purchases the gifts they receive, and writes the letters that are mailed to the recipients' parents. Elizabeth has done all of this and more in just five years. She has generously shared her talent as a professional organizer for The Insightful Organizer, which helps both households and businesses purge and arrange. Her love of Chi Omega inspires us all, and that inspiration flows through her family, with her sister, Barbara Stevens D'Ambriosio, Omicron '74, and her daughter, Lisa Adams Sabard, Omicron Kappa '05, also being her Chi Omega sisters!
