3 CHI OMEGA G rowing up with no Greek affiliation in her family, Brita Priest '11 was initially drawn to Chi Omega by the fun and confident sisters, as well as the chapter's strong commitment to scholarship. Her lasting commitment to Mu, however, runs even deeper. "I developed my closest friendships and had the opportunity to be a leader in the chapter," Brita said. "I loved being part of a community of like-minded women—pursuing their passions, giving back, and having fun all at the same time!" These values led Brita to career success, and as thanks she continues to give her time back to the chapter. WORK AND TRAVEL After four years as a consultant at PwC, Brita made a career shift to Airbnb, where she now works as product specialist. In this role, she conducts qualitative and quantitative research on the quality of Airbnb's product and presents her findings to the engineering and design teams. "So far I love the company's culture, and its core product aligns with my love of travel!" In the 4.5 years since graduating, Brita has visited 10 different countries. This spring, she traveled to India and Nepal to visit fellow sister Lauren Week '11, who lives in India as a Fulbright-Nehru research fellow. Brita also lives with a Mu sister and has traveled with several others, both nationally and internationally. "I stay in touch with these women not only because they are my friends, but because they are also role models and a regular source of inspiration for me." GIVING BACK Brita served as recruitment chairman followed by vice president as an undergraduate, and she is currently a member of the chapter advisory board, where she advises the vice president. "For me, this is a way to give back to the organization that gave me so much as a collegiate member. It is also important to me to volunteer my time to an organization that invests in female leaders." Brita visits Berkeley often as a board member, and in addition to chapter meetings and events, she enjoys attending football and basketball games and exploring the city's culinary offerings. CHI OMEGA THEN AND NOW Brita credits her undergraduate leadership experience with preparing her for the "real world," both in skills and confidence. Her relationships with both alumnae and active members continue to influence her today as an advisor. "Chi Omega is filled with inspiring women who push me to be a better person, to give back more, and to pursue what I'm passionate about. This was true during my time as a collegiate and is still true today!"
