2 The Katydid 4 A s the spring semester comes to an end, we've been very busy gearing up for our fall 2019 festivities! Our spring semester has brought joy and accomplishments in all outlets of our Chapter. From academic excellence to Parents Weekend, we've been blessed to have such a successful semester. We kicked off the semester by welcoming our new council members into their positions and look forward to the continuous improvement they've instilled in Kappa Delta. 257 MEMBERS RECOGNIZED ON THE DEAN'S AND PRESIDENT'S LISTS After hitting the books in the fall, 257 members were recognized on the Dean's and President's lists for achieving a GPA above 3.5. We are very excited to announce an overall increase in our Chapter GPA from a 3.45 to a 3.49. We are thrilled for our improvement and hope for success in the future! GREEK EXCELLENCE AWARDS We were honored to receive two outstanding awards at this year's Greek Excellence Awards Ceremony. Our very own Ivey-Katherine Weaver '15 received Most Outstanding Panhellenic President award, and our Chapter received the Most Outstanding Risk Management award. We couldn't be prouder of Ivey-Katherine for leading this Chapter during her term as president! KΔ RAISES MORE THAN $55,000 FOR PHILANTHROPIES We recently had our Shamrock 5K Run in March accompanied with Parents Weekend. With 1,600 attendees, we were proud to raise more than $55,000 for Child Abuse Prevention Services. This year was very special due to the overwhelming love and support from the community, alumnae, and parents. We couldn't do this without you all! NATIONAL CONVENTION 2019 In July, nine council members, five members on the Council Advisory Board, and six members on Emerald Executive will be attending Kappa Delta's National Convention in Dallas. We are looking forward to this knowledgeable experience and the opportunity to represent KΔ nationally.
