3 Z eta's recruitment team has been working hard this spring to ensure a successful upcoming fall recruitment. We love the excitement of being able to show all the potential new members a small slice of our beautiful Kappa Delta sisterhood. The University of Alabama Panhellenic has released the official dates for recruitment, which will begin with Convocation on August 10 and end with Bid Day on August 18. One hundred and eleven new members were initiated in 2018. Due to the high early freshmen admission numbers, we expect to have an even larger new member class this year. SEND US YOUR PNMS! Zeta appreciates the many potential new member recommendations we receive from our alumnae and remains committed to giving every referred potential new member, as well as every legacy, the utmost consideration. Please note recommendation forms can be found online at kappadelta.org or in the spring edition of the Angelos. Also, for your convenience, recommendations can now be filled out electronically through the same KΔ website. Our Chapter website also contains information regarding recruitment, academic requirements, and philanthropy events. Legacy Introduction Forms should be filled out and sent to the Chapter for all potential new members with Kappa Delta sisters, mothers, and grandmothers. Our mailing address is: P.O. Box 2854, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403. The deadline for written or digital recommendations is July 15, 2019. RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES Due to the large number of potential new members and active members in each Panhellenic group, The University of Alabama Dean of Students Office, UA campus police, UA fire department, and all sorority house corporations have coordinated a major plan to ensure the safety of our active sorority members, their new members, and the new member parents. Emphasis for Bid Day is now being placed on the family-orientated celebration of new members and their parents. ALL our active members and new members love the new concept, and it has been met with great accolades within the Greek community. The House Corporation Board will continue working with The University of Alabama to follow the success of 2019. Please note the following Bid Day regulations, which have been adopted by all UA Panhellenic groups: 1. Increased hired security and at least one UA police officer in every sorority Chapter House on Bid Day. 2. No men, except fathers or grandfathers of new members, are allowed in sorority chapter houses on Bid Day. 3. No alcohol is allowed inside, or on the lawn of, sorority chapter houses. 4. Alumnae are welcome, but due to size of the crowd please refrain from bringing non- alumnae (including children) due to fire code restrictions. We sincerely appreciate Kappa Delta alumnae and thank you for your continued support. Please feel free to contact us with any questions pertaining to University of Alabama recruitment.
