His achievements both to his fraternity and alma matter are immense and if it wasn't for him back in the 1950s, eta Chi might not still be standing today. His contributions, whether it be to house academics, on-campus involvement, or his complete immersion in the ideal of lending a helping hand at all times, make him one of the greatest brothers the Epsilon Chapter was privileged to have. Brother Papianou was the resolute man and will be immortalized as a role model for the future generations of brothers to come. Brother Papianou was instrumental in changing the culture within the house during the tail end of the 1950s. Incoming brothers were G.I. Joes and war veterans from the Korean War, and Brother Papianou knew exactly how to foster the spirit of brotherhood and unite men from all walks of life to come together and become eta Chi. He was considered everyone's big brother due to his helpful nature in assisting brothers with their academics, even if he hadn't taken the class, or supporting all the various eta Chi sports teams at every event. He also led the house to win the Pi Delta Epsilon Songfest twice with his favorite tune of "Dream Girl of eta Chi." Brother Papianou was a highly active and engaged alumni member, both for WPI and for eta Chi. He would frequently attend monthly alumni dinners and share entertaining stories about his time at the house. Brother Papianou also once wrote to the Echo, the Rattle, and the Worcester Magazine to help raise money for Brother Alfie '59, who was running a marathon for leukemia. Brother Papianou did this all on his own accord and it was selfless and caring acts like this that truly make him a brother who will forever be cherished.
