Your happiness can manifest into your life in more ways than I can put into one column, but I can tell you the things that will steal your happiness within my five hundred word limit. Gossiping, complaining, fault finding, making critical comments, being rude, being judgemental, telling secrets or any other negative activity will steal your joy. Engaging in these behaviors or associating with people who make these behaviors a part of their every day lives will lead to the theft of your joy. There is something so routine about looking at the negative in ourselves and criticising our life. Evenmore, we are hypercritical about others and are quick to judge, gossip, and give away their secrets because we feel justified somehow. Empowerment over violence By JOHN MINTON Special to the DN The possibility of being struck by an attacker is great, even with training, so the two volunteered to know what being struck felt like. Equipment and gear are required in the training and includes a headpiece and face mask, body armor, forearm, wrist and finger protection. These two combatants provided the energy and will power to survive an attack. The classes also include how to get an attacker off them while down on the ground and how to maintain balance while on their feet. The Police Activities League and Alternatives to Violence are partnering these classes for women and children, the elderly and anyone else who feels vulnerable to violent attack. Verbal confidence techniques are also discussed along with how to notice behaviors from potential attackers. Warn Parents To Keep Little Folk Of f Hill The local authorities have sounded a note of warning against the practice of permitting children to use the north Main street hill for coasting purposes. Every day and evening small boys and girls may be seen riding down this hill towards the Brewery creek bridge, and it is feared some of them will be injured in the event an automobile approaches quickly from Duncan hill and the driver fails to note the presence of the children. Feb. 26, 1923 Conventional allergy testing limits identification to specific antigens, which limits treatment options for people who complain about allergy like symptoms but who do not have a true allergy.
