6 Illinois Alpha Spring 2019 Executive Committee Members President Ethan Burrus '21 is majoring in aerospace engineering. Besides SigEp, Ethan enjoys general aviation as a private pilot and is a member of the autonomous drone club. After graduation, Ethan hopes to work for a large aerospace company such as Boeing or NASA. Some goals he has for the semester are meeting the quota of leases for fall of 2019, which happens to be 45, and implementing pod-based action plans. Chaplain Michael Manning '21 is an electrical engineering major from Ladd, Ill. Michael enjoys playing intramural sports and working out when he is not studying or hanging out with friends. He plans on improving chapter attendance this semester as well as helping the house transition to a completely substance-free environment by creating an alcohol task force and completing room checks. Vice President of Communication Andrew Spaulding '21 is an economics major from Sterling, Ill. Andrew has the ultimate goal of attending law school. In Andrew's free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, remaining active, and traveling. Andrew plans on increasing Illinois Alpha's social media presence, creating a weekly newsletter for active members, and getting a story about our chapter published in the SigEp Journal. Vice President of Facilities Management Matt Pawlowski '21 hails from Northbrook, Ill., and is studying statistics and economics. Matt is involved in club track and field and is a co-founder of the Illinois Drone Club. In Matt's free time, he enjoys lifting weights, hanging out with friends, and reading books. Matt's goals for the semester include assigning chores to the in-house guys and seeing that they get done to improve the condition of the house. Vice President of Finance Robert Garmoe '21 is from Arlington Heights, Ill., and is pursuing degrees in accounting and finance. Roberts plans to pursue his CPA designation after graduation. In addition to SigEp, Robert is involved in club golf and accounting club. In Robert's free time, he enjoys playing golf, hanging out with friends, and watching Chicago sports teams. Robert set the goal of having 95 percent of all dues collected by March 20. He is working with the vice president of facilities to lower the costs of house maintenance. Vice President of Member Development Cameron Leveille '21 reigns from Winnetka, Ill., and is majoring in economics with a minor in business. Cameron's interests are in investment banking, where he participated in a semester-long program called Prime: Intro to Mergers & Acquisitions. He was certified in financial modeling by Adventis in March. Outside of school, Cameron enjoys hanging with friends and skiing in Lake Tahoe with his family. A few of his goals for new members include successfully integrating them into the house, performing résumé reviews, and having them create LinkedIn profiles. Vice President of Philanthropy Dan Marshall '21 is from Mount Prospect, Ill., and is majoring in agricultural and biological engineering with a concentration in renewable energy systems. Dan will be interning with Borrego Solar this summer in Chicago. Dan and the chapter have set a goal to raise more than $5,000 for the Josh Gottheil Fund for Lymphoma Research this semester. Illinois Alpha hosted the annual SigEp Gottheil Cup on March 30 at the Ice Arena and enjoyed its Spring Break Service Trip to Tallahassee, Fla. The chapter is setting up another blood drive and is supporting the other philanthropic causes on campus. Vice President of Programming Ryan Kipping '21 hails from Springfield, Ill., and is majoring in business. In Ryan's free time, he enjoys playing video games, hanging out with friends, and playing sports—especially intramurals. Ryan set a goal of raising $5,000 for the Josh Gottheil Fund for Lymphoma Research this semester by sponsoring the Gottheil Cup and having an off-campus date event, such as attending a baseball game. Vice President of Recruitment Michael Hilmer '20 is a chemical engineering major from Palatine, Ill. Michael hopes to work in the oil and gas industry after college. Illinois Alpha completed Spring Recruitment by adding six quality new members. Michael's committee was extremely helpful in the recruiting process and helped him achieve his goal of having more than 80 percent of the spring class be freshmen. Ryan will work with the new recruitment consultant to develop new recruiting ideas to help with the recruitment in the fall of 2019. Vice President of Residential Learning Community Thomas Schneider '21 is a finance major from Western Springs, Ill. Outside of SigEp, Thomas is involved in an a cappella group and is a co-founder of the Illinois Drone Club. In his free time, Thomas enjoys singing, spending quality time with friends, and watching Illinois basketball. Thomas plans to implement a new SPEARS tracking program and host eight RLC events throughout the semester. Vice President of Risk Management Spencer Poklop '21 is from Palatine, Ill., and is majoring in finance with a minor in informatics. Along with SigEp, Spencer is also involved in the Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity and Venture Capital Association. Spencer's achieved his main goal of Illinois Alpha being removed from its University reprimand status this semester. Moving forward, Spencer is focused on establishing a healthy relationship with the IFC Vice President of Risk Management and presenting the university's risk management policies to our new members.
