® Mississippi Beta | 2 Mississippi Beta Today UNDERGRADUATE CHAPTER QUICK FACTS • 406 collegiate members, which meets chapter total • In Fall 2018, Pi Phi pledged 138 members • 3.28 GPA, above all-women's and all-Panhellenic average GPAs • In Spring 2018, Mississippi Beta members completed 3,500 service hours and raised $14,875 for philanthropies • 2018 recipient of Region 6 Excellence in Risk Management • Recipient of the Trailblazer Award at the 2018 Ole Miss Greek Awards • In the last year, members have been selected to participate in the Associated Student Body, Homecoming Court, Panhellenic Executive Council, Recruitment Counselors, Ole Miss Who's Who, RebelTHON Executive Board, Phi Kappa Phi, Order of Omega, Ole Miss Rebelettes, and many other on-campus activities. PHILANTHROPIC SERVICE TO OTHERS • Mississippi Betas host "Wing Ching" as their fall philanthropy event. Fraternities participate in a wing eating contest and other guests enjoy a pizza party. • In the spring, Mississippi Beta holds "Pi Phi Pizookies" at the chapter house. Pizookies are chocolate chip cookies with ice cream and toppings. • Money raised through Mississippi Beta's philanthropy efforts support the Pi Phi Foundation, Read>Lead>Achieve®, Lafayette County Literacy Council, and Leap Frog. • Top 10 Pi Beta Phi Foundation Donor in 2017 • Mississippi Beta volunteers with Lafayette Elementary School throughout the school year using the Pi Phi program Champions Are Readers (C.A.R.). Members donate books to the school and help students improve their reading skills. At the end of the year, Pi Phi hosts a Literacy Carnival for the children who completed the program. GREEK LIFE AT OLE MISS • More than 40% of students are Greek at Ole Miss with 6,800 affiliated students. Undergraduate enrollment is currently 18,700. • ere are 10 Panhellenic chapters on campus. • In 2018, 1,450 women went through recruitment. • 4,726 community members are involved in another student organization. • Internships were held by 625 community members. • Greeks have raised $678,439 total philanthropy dollars and completed 34,877 community service hours.
