CALIFORNIA GAMMA RAISES $12,089 FOR READ > LEAD > ACHIEVE ® W e are almost done with the spring semester at USC and my first semester as Chapter President! It's been such an exciting and fulfilling last few months at California Gamma. We began the semester with our first-ever formal spring recruitment. Our Vice President of Membership, Mia Bettino '17, spent her winter break hard at work planning for our New Members. Her hard work paid off after we received 44 lovely new Angels. e New Members are full of enthusiasm and eager for life as actives! Sunya Chandi '17, the New Member Coordinator, spent several weeks preparing for initiation and on March 25th, all the New Members were successfully initiated. We held our annual philanthropy event, Pi Social, on March 22. Sydney Robles '17, Vice President of Philanthropy, held the All-American themed event at the chapter house and it was a huge success. Attendees could pay $5 to pie-a-Pi-Phi and indulge in yummy treats. In total, we raised $12,089 (and counting) for Read > Lead > Achieve®! e USC Pi Phi's have also continued to excel academically by achieving a GPA well above both the student and Greek averages. Our Vice President of Member Development, Jenny Hill '17, planned a scholarship dinner to recognize all of our members' academic achievements. It was held on Monday, April 15, and featured a keynote speech from the founder of Sugarfina. USC Pi Phi has had a fabulous semester so far. I am so proud of all that this new Executive Council has achieved and am excited to see what is to come!
