Big Check, Big Success!
CHI ZETA RAISES THOUSANDS
FOR URBANA FOOD BANK
W
e are proud to announce that the undergraduate membership
this year has already raised more than $4,000 in cash
donations and $1,000 worth of non-perishable food items
in support of the Eastern Illinois Food Bank of Urbana, a local member
of the national Feeding America organization—and they consider this
just a good start!
Raising Funds and Awareness
In January and February, Chi Zeta, led by Robert
McCracken '18 X2205, partnered with Alpha
Gamma Delta sorority to seek ways to better support
the local Champaign-Urbana community. Because
this is a campus town, it might not seem like the
C-U community would have a large food-insecure
population, but in fact, Champaign county's poverty
rate is estimated at 18.9%—higher than Cook
County's 15% (source: Census.gov). We are proud
that the actives of our fraternity committed to help
combat this issue directly, by raising awareness about
the problem and by collecting non-perishable food
items and monetary donations.

and Dilan Patel '18 X2233.
And they're not done! e men look forward to
keeping this momentum going as Chi Zeta moves
forward into the closing months of the academic
year, challenging themselves to see what they can
accomplish to continue helping the C-U community.
