We are happy to report that after receiving our campus community report, our Chapter GPA continues to improve each year. This semester, the VPs of Foundation, membership, Panhellenic, member education, programming, and I attended Institute in Columbus, Ohio. We learned so much valuable information that we will use during our term. Overall, we are thriving at Beta Kappa! Membership Enrichment Earlier this semester we had the opportunity to host Ross Szabo, an award-winning speaker, who discussed mental health. Ross spoke at Convention last year and is a partner with Delta Gamma nationally, and we were ecstatic to have him visit our Chapter. Ross' speech impacted our Chapter members by reminding us we are not alone. During his presentation, the Chapter members had direct involvement with his presentation, extracting even more information from him. Our members were surprised to find how many women in the Chapter struggle with prioritizing sleep and mental health. Ross taught us how to prioritize those two things in college and well as the rest of our lives. Raising the Bar in Academics Our Chapter GPA is 3.37! We are now utilizing GinSystem to make recording study hours more convenient for our members. Our Chapter Management Team has also planned to implement training on how to be sighted guides. In the future, this new process will be part of our new member training. In addition, VP Programming Shelby Robbe '16 listened to a presentation at Institute regarding socio-economic status within Greek organizations and will extend an invitation to the Chapter to listen within the next semester. More Than $6,500 Raised for Service for Sight On March 23, we hosted Anchor Games, a one-day philanthropy event hosted on our front lawn. Neighboring Greek organizations competed in a series of mini-games, including a blow-up obstacle course. We raised over $6,500 and the feedback from the event was unbelievable. Our woman had an amazing time coaching the different teams and connecting with Service for Sight. We cannot wait to present Audio-Reader with money to help with funding! Beta Kappa also participated in the Circle of Sisterhood philanthropy week for KU Panhellenic in a friendly competition against other sororities. Thank You, Advisors! Our advising team has been absolutely amazing! During my time at Beta Kappa, we have never had so many advisors willing to help us every step of the way and with their guidance, we are stretching to new levels. Please take the time to visit us at the Chapter house when you are in the area.
